Young’s new pub-style restaurant, FireBrick Bar & Grill, celebrated its grand opening earlier this month. The two-day event featured a ribbon cutting in the newly renovated dining area and live music both nights. Guests were able to enjoy items from the eagerly anticipated new menu created by Young’s Executive Chef Kevin Amelio.
This is the first time in almost ten years that Young’s has offered full-service dining. The opening marks a significant milestone in Young’s journey to become a world-class destination that both the local community and the larger region can enjoy. Over the last several months Young’s staff, trustees, and advisory teams have worked together to prepare for the brand-new bar and restaurant.
“Young’s is thrilled to offer this to the community,” Young’s General Manager Jason Rivard said. “It’s been a long time coming, and we can’t wait for everyone to try it out and have lots of fun out at FireBrick Bar & Grill.”
The FireBrick Bar & Grill menu features a selection of appetizers, soups, salads, and entrées. It also offers specialty items during the week, such as Seafood Saturdays and Wednesday Ribs. FireBrick’s draft beer collection highlights Upper Peninsula brews. The restaurant will also host a variety of events throughout the year including wine and beer tastings and even a Dinner with the Chef series.
“It was great to see everyone who came to the grand opening and to see all the support for FireBrick,” Chef Amelio said. “I hope we can continue that success as we move into the future.” An Iron County native, Chef Amelio is Le Cordon Bleu trained and has worked internationally at luxury resorts and restaurants. He will also lead Young’s evening dining establishment, Margaret’s, which is slated to open next year.
